Many moons ago, I built a noise blanker based on John Seamons's design.
     see: http://www.lwca.org/library/articles/jreed/gate/gate1b.htm

The mods I introduced were:
a) added a zener diode - the original schematic obviously relied on the
input gate (4538 pin 4) somehow clippping at + Vcc
b) replaced the 40107 with a 4011
c) the only Vcc I use is + 5v

As drawn, my blanker can handle two separate interferences, and has
been working very well for the past 5 years.
