The 1/4" carbon rods I was sure were in my posession have gone AWOL, so will not turn up before the replacements arrive. I'll turn my attention to winding some larger inductance to obtain a resonant circuit down in the 10-50 kHz range. Could also try a larger fixed cap and a ballast inductor I salvaged from a defunct CFL, that would likely make for a resonance in the audio range. All worthy points on the experimentation front. /Ed
