Second night in a row, K9KFR firing up on 2200m wspr and decoding here in Texas. Nice to see the lowest frequency ham band being utilized again after a long summer dry spell. For an antenna, I'm using my nearly 3 ft. long ferrite loopstick for an antenna. Surprisingly, I'm not using any preamplification for decent copy. The noise level in the receiver barely increases with the antenna connected. It's only about 4 ft. above ground level but it seems to do slightly better than my low-noise vertical.

I'm hoping for JA copy this winter season on 2200m. I decoded them a couple years ago and would like to repeat. Not sure if a 2 year change in the sunspot cycle will make things better or worse at 2200m.
