I guess the rule would be... less secondary turns, higher overall Q, less bandwidth. More secondary turns, less Q, more bandwidth. I could probably go for more secondary turns on my loopstick but frankly I'm exhausted with messing with it. It works, I'll let it be. If those coils you mention were tuned with a 365 pf at lf, then tuning must have been fairly sharp, I'd guess. You mention the audio chokes... they do work for vlf. Good ones will work to 20khz. The laminated rod idea is interesting, but I think it's a vlf endeavor. Yes, interesting stuff and thanks for your comments Ed. 73, Ray
