Groundwave propagation in daytime is often under-appreciated at 2200 m. It's always present, at distances of up to four times that of 540 kHz for a given attenuation level, although static covers up weak signals in most months. At this time of year, however, the vastly reduced QRN allows even as little as 1 W EIRP to reach hundreds of miles effectively.
