initial experiments are being made with a uniden pc-122 which has always had a good rx on it, but i got on the shelf a few 23ch ssb rigs with big fat xtal filters in there. courier spartan ssb, a sears base with sleazy fake woodgrain shell, and a midland 13-893. all of them in nice cosmetic condition with real cozy aesthetics. all of them will end up getting recapped. im gonna use either the midland or spartan, and the other 2 rigs will go with future transverters. im thinkin this is how we can open up 1750m to the working class experimenters. mikesradiorepair on the youtube explains why old is good and new is bad here. he is 100% spot-on, because my cobra 140 can hear a pindrop.
