Hi HiFER enthusiasts,Just a quick note to inform you that PVC has changed from QRSS3 to regular Morse at 7 WPM. This is partly an experiment, and partly the result of accidentally interrupting the keyer, and forgetting for the time being how to reprogram in slow mode. I also found an unreliable antenna connection while checking things out, so would be grateful for any reports if you happen to hear the beacon.
Incidentally, I made my first HF contact yesterday, on 40 m, with a VE station in British Colombia. Not a bad first result with a newly setup 45 ft. Inverted L and ~80w out of the transceiver. Estimated distance 950 miles from PVC.
