Hi John,I spend some time this weekend scoping out VLF options for observing eclipse effects on propagation.
After careful setup, I had spectrum lab configured with a good "plotter" recording of the 24 kHz transmission from Cutler, Me. This station is also geographically well suited to purpose, as the eclipse path passes (mostly) between my QTH in Northern California, before running almost directly overhead the transmitting site.
That was until this morning. I'd spent yesterday collecting baseline data, and ensuring that my S/N calculation wasn't adding anomalies to the plotted data. On checking the system before heading out to work, I found the 24 kHz data transmission was gone. Eager to monitor something, I've retuned quickly to 60kHz to monitor trusty WWV today, and again tomorrow.
Good luck with your viewing.
