Visited the WWVB/WWV antenna farm in Ft. Collins, CO today. Could only go so far before the US government security fences blocked the way but close enough to be impressed by how absolutely huge these things are. I told my wife this place is like a radio nut’s Mecca. I started listening to WWV more than 55 years ago as a kid and it was exciting to finally look at the antennas that still launch those signals. But the WWV antennas are almost minuscule compared to the 60 kHz WWVB antennas. I took a bunch of pictures (with my wife taking pictures of me taking pictures) and will try to write something up and share, perhaps for The Lowdown members’ page if they’ll have it.
