The decision on infrastructure purchases and investments in broadcasting depends on the "Minister of Electronic Development, Innovation and Communications" and not on the NMB, the Mongolian National Public Radio and Television. The Minister stated that he intends to invest only in shortwave digital broadcasting to ensure full coverage of the country. The project is to be studied soon. For longwave, given the state of the transmitters and the current operation, in the absence of investments, the situation will continue to deteriorate. Only one transmitter is recent and digital compatible (TRAM of Transradio). Unless the Minister reviews his position, all the other transmitters, built by the USSR in 1978, are doomed to disappear, but no deadline is set.(Michel Fremy)
