Hey, I’m a younger guy working as an engineer in nyc. I have some hand radios I use mostly in the MURS bands for communication in the woods. Additionally, I had some radio experience when I was in the navy. Our jobs currently are working in the subway tunnels in the city. The equipment we usually use is too high frequency to use. I did some research and it seems lowfer has been used for communication in mines due to the long wavelength. I was looking for some advice on where to go from here, as we’d like to have some way to communicate between crews underground without installing repeaters or permanent equipment. I can’t find much technical on setups. Ideally it would be handheld as well, but does not need to be. Additionally, I am not sure how much interference being in nyc would cause.
