Ed, I won't presume to speak for Mike, but I interpreted what he was suggesting as something like this for the message categories:- 1. administrative and General announcements. Q&A about functioning of the forum/board, news about the LWCA, amateur radio nets related to longwave matters, officially sanctioned sticky posts (if any), announcements of FCC rule making proposals or other government actions (such as local antenna restrictions), and general radio or electronics questions tat don't seem to fit elsewhere.
- 2. All Things Longwave (Almost). Except for no-license beacons, everything below 530 kHz goes here! --all news about or reception reports of LW broadcasters, NDBs, military, utility and time signals, 2200 and 630 meter ham activity, LW history, Natural Radio at VLF, etc etc.
- License-Free Beacons, LF-VHF. All Part 15/RSS-210 compliant stations, their schedules, reception reports, antennas, receivers, hardware and circuit discussions, etc. (Not pirates or microbroadcasters, though. Those have enough forums of their own already.)
- By the same token, I don't anticipate us having an omnibus HF category akin to the LF one, as there are plenty of good SWL forums out there already covering broadcast, util, and ham activity.
Is that an accurate representation of what you had in mind, Mike? If so, does it sound reasonable to you too, Ed? Or should experimental beacon technology and hardware discussion be in a separate category from the beacon schedules and reception reports?
