Thanks for sharing your thoughts on a name, Ed. You asked if there must be a new one? No, not really. Only thing is, its new functions and features are such a hybrid that it amounts to much more than an ordinary message board, but still not a full-fledged forum either. Some differences from a typical forum:-no avatars, minimal stats or other personalized social media type features that would require a detailed database and cookies, which bot only add complexity on the front end (coding), but also necessitates regular ongoing maintenance to keep the software running, uncorrupted. Even after we discontinued new posts in our previous LF Community Forum (a well rated commercial product) the existing posts still deteriorated and eventually became unrecoverable over time. Bottom line: even if it doesn't need a formal identity, what do we generically call software that's more than a message board but not exactly a forum?
