Sometimes it is the simple things. While doing some listening this weekend, I thought I'd check out LF/VLF reception on the long inverted L. The eLORAN signals ~100kHz were weak, and coming in better on the random wire dipole. This immediately flagged a problem, so I popped out to the feed point in the yard armed with a multimeter and other tools. Rather quickly, I found the ground wire connection (spliced with an all-weather wire nut had come undone - possibly the work of the dogs rampaging around. An easy fix and proper reception was justly restored.
