Glenn,Thanks for your comments. I have seen designs published that use audio transformers, and it makes a good deal of sense. Especially the innate ability to reject higher frequencies. I think the folks at SAQ even have a receiver or preamp design using similar components.
Also, this again highlights that what may not work to pass real power is quite adequate to transfer signal voltage to a receiver's input.
The MW high power stations are a challenge here in the SF Bay Area. There are 3 or 4 on the dial that will drive the S Meter to the top of the scale.
