Last night was looking like a poor evening propagation wise from local SS to about 9 PM then like a light switch the LWBC stations started coming in. By around 10 PM to Midnight signals were actually very good for 153 kHz and BBC on 198 kHz. 171 kHz was in and out, nothing to write home about. No audio detected on 225 kHz or 252 kHz. BUT, get a load of this.......153 kHz actually remembered to keep the filaments on their modulator and they had awesome modulation hour after hour ! Wow, I wonder if they finally realized they have been screwing up for years? Anyway, great audio from Algeria all night on 153 kHz. Remarkable that nothing was heard from Algeria on 252 kHz. The super sad part was that I had a HUGE amount of stupid QRN that was pretty consistent and simply would not go away. Such a shame as the band, propagation wise, was one of the better evenings for me here in Indiana all season. 73 Gedas W8BYA
