I have been tracking Radio Romania on 153 kHz for many days now partly because I have been grounded due to bad storms over my head for days but also to figure out their operating schedule.I have some really good news for anyone who wants to have a crack at detecting their broadcast. It turns out that at about 10:54 PM (EDST) or 02:54Z Radio Romania every night turns on a 1 kHz tone for 6 minutes right up to the top of the hour ! The 1 kHz are really easy to detect even is Algeria is coming in on the same frequency. You cannot mis it. When summer is here the nights will be too short but we still have a 2-3 weeks window where I think some of you may be able to detect this tone. Before that time they are off the air, no carrier, no nothing. I am still tracking down when they shut down but I feel good of sometime around 19:00Z.
