I was thinking about building a Wellbrook. There is a kit out that copies it. All their secrets have been published and its not that complicated. I believe that it uses a Norton amplifier. I have been thinking about building a LARGE loop antenna. In Texas everything has to be big! My Loop on Ground works pretty well but sometimes nearby entities pollute my low frequency spectrum. That includes myself. If I do build it I will point it towards Europe. That should help me out with the "heavy" AM broadcasters I have in my area including the 50,000 Watt blow torch a few miles from me. I have 1.053 volts at my antenna terminals of 1200 Khz rf from WOAI. I have a couple of loops that I built a long time ago but they don't come close to my LOG. That LOG seems to work into the 160 MHZ range (which I couldn't believe) down to VLF. I believe I have more than 600 feet of wire in it. I know their are people who have built even larger LOG's but that is one of the bigger ones. Most are 15' by 15'. It works especially well in the SW area and the noise level is usually down below -135 dBm. There are a couple of bands where it goes even lower. So low you can't see it. Anyways I plan on building a bunch of different antennas in the future. Mainly to see how many people are telling lies about their antennas. My big problem right now is finishing my homestead. I have been working on it two years. Too many projects but I am getting there.
