All, Just a reminder that summertime shutdowns of big LF transmitting sites are quite common. Projects include tower painting, guy wire (and insulator) inspections, cleanout of tuning networks, electrical wiring and tower light fixtures are common. With RF exposure regulations and a desire to keep things from blowing up, it is customary to shut transmitters off. Many of these sites have no backup antenna setups, so the signal just goes away while work is being done in favorable weather. No panic needed, they will hopefully be back when the work is done.
