LW? Sure. LF? No. LF is a technical term with a well defined meaning: frequencies from 30 - 300 kHz, wavelengths of 10,000 to 1000 meters; aka kilometric waves). LW, short for "long wave," is older and less precise. For some it means everything up to the maritime calling and distress frequency of 500 kHz, but since the Thirties it has generally included anything lower than the standard AM broadcast band.
