Mike,

I emailed you directly last Friday, but haven't heard back. There are several of us willing to listen, but we'll need to know when your station will be on the air.

Sal,

I heard what sounded like dashes on 511.97 - seemed to be someone sending "T" in cw at about 5 wpm - was that you?

Are you on 24x7? I sometimes drive through CT with an e-probe on the roof of my car.

No Warren, I am sending EH at 10 wpm, but that's the frequency I'm on. I'm on 24/7 wid some rx time breaks. Listen for HI also on 510.330 he's in Monroe, CT abt 20 miles W/NW of me. Years back I ran "SD" on 187KHz.

137 kHz M P operation
Posted by Mitch VE3OT on April 23, 2007 at 12:02:21.

M P is now shut down operations on 137 kHz - All Canadian licenses will be finished this year - from now until June. A suggested reason given - the WARC 2007 meeting which will be happening this year. Not sure about the future.

Bummer Mitch! You were always on, your 137 signal will be missed!

FCC/OET is granting Experimental licenses much slower than before (all Experimentals are slow, not just for 137). Current backlog is 6 months before they even look at an application. Add another 6 months to a year on top of that for NTIA review and we are almost at a two year process!

Bottom line, Experimental licenses are no substitute for an amateur allocation!

Luxembourg is seeking to use 279 longwave
Posted by Mike Terry on April 29, 2007 at 12:46:48.

Apologies if I'm reporting something that's not news, but I see from
the current ITU notificaton of proposed new LF/MF registrations that
Luxembourg is seeking to use 279 longwave (250 kW day, 150 kW night).
Anyone know any more about this? The registration document is dated 6
March 2007 and comments must be submitted by 26 June. The document does
not indicate any coordination required with other users of 279 (it does
do so for some other new LF registrations that are being requested by
Russia) so presumably the registration will be granted.

Has Luxembourg slipped in with this bid, knowing that Isle of Man 279
is now definitely off? If Luxembourg gets the channel, this would
presumably block any future attempted registration of the frequency by
the UK or the Isle of Man.

The ITU document is at:

ter/files/ge75/2007/GE75_115.pdf
