Just to add a new flavor to this discussion, in a work-related meeting this morning, there was a presentation on a medical device that uses 13.56 MHz for 2-way digital data transfer between an active probe and its control unit. Considering the size of the active probe and its intended close proximity to the control unit, the power levels involved must be minuscule. But serves as a reminder that 13.56(ish) MHz is actively used for lots of purposes including medical devices. Thought this was interesting enough to pass on to the group here. 73, Bruce WA1HGJ
