Hi Gedas,

Many thanks for your response with recommendations, much appreciated, OM. I put high value on your RSPdx2 recommendation considering your experience with multiple units. The SDRplay website is pretty informative (www.sdrplay.com/rspdxr2/) and there are several options for purchase including SRDplay itself, HRO, etc.

You are right that I don't have serious interests below 15 kHz, but that's only because I've never logged anything other than static down there. That said, I've gotten my <15 kHz itch scratched for many years by Rick Ferranti's terrific Natural Radio columns in LOWDOWN, although sadly those are coming to an end. Thanks, Rick, for all your columns over the years, totally fascinating and I learned a lot!

Back to SDRplay, I'll likely purchase the RSPdx2 soon and will report back on progress here from time to time. Like most of my radio projects, they proceed at a snail's pace but (mostly) come to fruition eventually!

Happy New Year to everyone here on the board. May 2026 bring us new and interesting stuff in the VLF/LF spectrum, instead of just the slow and relentless loss of stuff we've gotten used to. One can hope!

73, Bruce WA1HGJ
