The first question on my mind is:

1. If WSPR and all the associated websites could be coaxed into letting the neglected band into their fraternity, do you think it would be worth the effort to try to contact those involved to see if we could be included in their game. If so expound.

An antenna for the Neglected band is not exactly an antenna that is working by the laws of nature. It is a terribly inefficient antenna. Why because of the length constraint placed upon it by the FCC rules. If a commission inspector drives up on a Lowfer site to ascertain compliance he is not apt to complain about a 25 foot capacity hat. But in reality it could be considered to be part of the length of that antenna. So there is some latitude to tinker with. There are other antennas that might be considered for the replacement of a short vertical w/variometer. Maybe they wont be considered efficient but maybe they would beat a 2 per cent efficiency. I am not trying to break the laws of physics. I am just trying to approach them somewhat better or to look for an antenna that might substitute itself with a better efficiency. Of course it would have to be modified for lower frequency.

By the way. I have a loop on ground that I am using right now thats about 500 feet of wire. It receives VLF stations, NDB's, (I installed a band reject filter for AM broadcast because it drowned me out), Short Wave and surprisingly well into the VHF region. I would be interested to hear what you fellows use to listen to longwave with.
